Lamp Express Introduces Measuring Device to Professional Market

Lamp Express USA, Inc., Morganton, North Carolina, a supplier of technical light sources, now offers the ParvaSens, the industry’s first hand-held device that reads UV-C radiation and compares the received UV dose to an integrated database of microorganisms, such as bacteria, molds and viruses. The unit offers measuring dynamics and integration times in a compact form factor.

Shortwave UV light has been used for many years to disinfect surfaces from microorganisms as an alternative to chemical cleaning. Due to the increased awareness, caused by the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, disinfection with UV light has become more mainstream. The disinfection of surfaces is not a simple task, and the verification is even more complicated. The patent-pending technology of the ParvaSens make the verification now quick and easy.

The ParvaSens is available in two versions. The ParvaSens Basic is tailored to all users that need easy-to-understand results without scientific lingo. This makes it perfect for everyday use in hospitals, doctors’ offices and everywhere else where no-frills disinfection is a daily chore.

The ParvaSens Advanced also makes scientific data available, such as time under UV-C (s or min), average lamp power (mW/cm2) and total dose received (J/m2).

Both units became available in January 2021. Pre-orders are accepted.
