UV 101: Focus on the Fundamentals of UV for Reuse

This Workshop will summarize the basics of applying UV to disinfection and chemical contaminant objectives in designing and operating Reuse water systems for different purposes and provide an update on recent developments. This Workshop will equip professionals who work in the emerging field of water reuse for direct and indirect potable and non-potable applications with a basic understanding of:
• how UV works,
• its benefits for different scenarios, where it can be cost-effective;
• how to choose appropriate configurations in tandem with other technologies,
• current developments and where to find resources for further information.

UV Dictionary Development Workshop
In 2023, IUVA Board of Directors gave a mandate to the IUVA Education Committee to develop a UV dictionary to reduce confusion, promote interoperability and communication across UV applications around the globe. This workshop invites IUVA stakeholders to co-create the process and recommend priorities. We will consider two pathways to develop the UV Dictionary, show what each might look like, and involve participants in development.
