ZED Ziegler Electronic Devices GmbH, Ilmenau, Germany, offers mercury-free excimer lamp technology, whose 172 nm radiation allows fast and efficient ozone generation.

The ZED excimer system consists of an electronic ballast, a high voltage transformer and an excimer lamp, ready to be integrated into a customer’s various applications.

Currently three sizes of lamps are available, with a lamp power of 40W, 50W and 60W respectively. The ozone output typically ranges from 2-6 g/h. Typical lamp lifetimes range around 5000 hours of operation. For evaluation of the component properties, ZED offers a testing kit, which includes a reactor.
