UV radiation is applied across a wide range of applications, presenting varying constraints and opportunities. In all applications, the same general principles of physics, chemistry, microbiology and reactor engineering apply; however, formal, comprehensive coverage of these topics has not been available in a textbook, reference text or formal class.
To address this need, a book has been written by Prof. E.R. Blatchley III of Purdue University titled Photochemical Reactors: Theory, Methods, and Applications of Ultraviolet Radiation. The book was published by Wiley in November 2022. An online class also has been developed from the material presented in the book.
The book and the online class provide logical, ordered presentations of the fundamental principles, numerical and analytical methods, and common applications of UV radiation.
