The International Ultraviolet Association (IUVA) hosted a webinar that introduced the potential for UV to play a role in water treatment and low- and middle-income countries and support meeting UN Sustainable Development Goal six through improved water service delivery and quality via disinfection.

The speakers discussed the current state of water quality treatment worldwide and provided case studies of UV applications, successes and challenges in practice, as well as the promise of UV for future water quality improvement. An open discussion was held at the end to gather perspectives on considerations for the effective use of UV technologies in low-resource settings.
