UVSAFE is a global alliance of UV LED suppliers and system manufacturers with a shared mission to educate industry stakeholders, policymakers,and the public about the performance, operational benefits and availability of sustainable UV LED technologies.

The alliance supports the objectives of the United Nations Minamata Convention on Mercury by documenting and sharing evidence on the effectiveness of mercury-free UV LED systems. Through education and industry collaboration, UVSAFE helps provide decision makers with credible information as they evaluate UV LEDs as alternatives to mercury-based UV lamps.

UV LEDs are already widely used in water, air and surface disinfection processes across residential, commercial, industrial, municipal and healthcare applications. By increasing the awareness of these capabilities, UVSAFE aims to support a sustainable future while strengthening the collective UV industry. Through its UV LEDs in Action webinar series, the group brings together researchers, manufacturers and end users to explore UV fundamentals, regulatory developments and prominent installations. These programs provide insight into the momentum behind UV LED adoption and the technology’s growing role across various industries.
