The International Ultraviolet Association (IUVA), Chevy Chase, Maryland, invites nominations and expressions of interest for appointments to its newly formed Manufacturers Council.
Purpose and Objective
The Manufacturers Council serves as the collective voice of equipment producers within the ultraviolet (UV) technology sector. It provides a strategic platform for members to address common industrial challenges, influence global regulatory policies, and drive technological standards. The council will directly advise the IUVA Board of Directors on market trends, supply chain dynamics, and industry-wide advocacy needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Advocate for fair, science-based international standards and regulations.
- Identify emerging global market trends and technological shifts.
- Address shared supply chain, manufacturing and sustainability challenges.
- Collaborate with academic and regulatory bodies to advance UV-C adoption.
- Develop best-practice guidelines for UV equipment safety and performance validation.
Eligibility Criteria
- Membership: Applicants must be current corporate members of the IUVA in good standing.
- Role: Representatives should hold senior leadership, technical director or regulatory affairs roles within their organization.
- Sector: Open to equipment manufacturers of UV lamps, systems, components, sensors and validation equipment across all markets and applications, including, but not limited to, water, air and surface, analytical, biomedical, etc.
Commitment and Term
- Term: Council members will serve a two-year renewable term.
- Meetings: Quarterly virtual meetings with one annual in-person meeting held alongside an IUVA in-person meeting.
- Participation: Active contribution to at least one sub-committee or working group is expected.
